The railway between Helsinki and St Petersburg was finished in 1870, but not connected to the main Russian network until 1913, when the Neva was bridged. In the interim, the Finnish railways had to provide a royal train for the emperor. The imperial trains and journeys in Finland up until independence in 1918 is the subject of this book.
