This railroad is well known as America's last interurban, still operating a frequent electric service from Chicago through areas of heavy industry to pleasant residential areas south of Lake Michigan. This books tells the unusual story of how one Samuel Insull purchased the railroad in 1925 and launched an unprecedented poster campaign to attract visitors to the area - with great success.
Thirtyeight surviving artistic posters are reproduced in colour, as well as several other works of art, up to 1998. 140 pages 25x33 cm, sb.
